Our artisan cooperaged "smaller" wooden wine kegs, casks and barrels are made from European white oak, which oak staves have been left drying for 18-24months. Our small oak vats have four standard black steel rings (upgradeable to brass like material) and come complete with wooden stand and a bung/plug with an option of having either a wooden spigot or a brass tap.

3 Liter oak keg with black steel rings, wooden stand, tap and plug
These 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 liters wooden barrels are fully functional and can hold wine, whiskey, port, brandy or other liquors and are highly decorative for home decor in addition to being a original gift. These smaller wooden kegs, especially the ones with golden hoops, are particularly suitable to be hampered together with some fine wine or liquor bottles and offered by traditional or online wine and spirits shops as a luxury or corporate "gift set" targeting the wine connoissuer market.
If you prefer to 'neutralise' the tanning effect of the barrels, you can easily do this by placing warm water inside the barrel and let it cool down, and then repeat the proceedure again. By the second time the oak tannins will be neutralised and will have no effect on the liquors that you pour in future.

As mentioned earlier, wine, liquor and spirits shops or cellar can accept delivery instructions and fill any particular keg with a wine or liquor specified by the client or sender. After safely closing the 'barrel' with our specially modified taps have the "filled" barrel gift delivered to the reciever. Once consigned, all the client has to do is to replace the front plug with the spigot, put on the stand and enjoy the keg and the liquor inside.
An original, luxury or corporate gift option! For this purpose, kegs smaller than 5 liters would be ideal and barrels with 'golden' rings should be prefferred since this would greatly enhance the apperance for gifting purposes. Also, as described earlier, if preferred, the "oak barrels" can be neutralised beforehand.
